Cast
Name: Daqueran
Species: Human (deceased/walking dead)
Daqueran is an un-friendly until you get to know him type of guy. Daqueran was born and lived in the plains before Vanwin forest was the epic forest region it is today. He is an undead human slave brought back by the unicorn, who sensed Kalmosses was seeking revenge from the one day war. Daqueran carries a crystal sword given to him by the unicorn but his skills and knowledge are either from his life or given to him by the unicorn, he does not know. Daquerans undead life quest is to travel to Shalynd and assasinate the evil dragon leader Kalmosses before he triggers another war that could wipe out the last of the human race. Daqueran carries a tiny octopus in a bottle named, Tik.
Name: Iada
Species: Human
Iada is an outgoing, clever lady with a good sense of humor. She is an elemental mage, favoring water, but she longs to use weapons instead of magic. She was born and lives alone in a small village near the south/east edge of the Vanwin forest, most of her family having moved west. Iada has absolutly no sense of direction and so she hasn’t travelled much, but she is determined, strong and healthy. She’s lived most of her life as a hunter/gatherer and lives a tough life so she is able to handle most anything, though not without complaining a little. She doesn’t function well alone and isn’t likely to do things on her own without someone coming along.
Iada’s closest friends are her two Kalix, a mother and son pair. She takes them both everywhere.
Name: Tik
Species: Miniature Amphibious Cameleon Octopus
Tik is a tiny little octopus that enjoys confined tiny bottles. Tik is afraid of the ocean because he is so small. He eats a single blade of grass a day and enjoys crushing his squishy body into the corner of his bottle. Tik, being the amphibious species of octopus, also enjoys shoulder rides (as long as it’s not too sunny).
Name: Tasirt
Species: Leshy
First appears in Chapter 6: Tasirt is a Leshy (in importal forest creature similar to a fawn) that was Daquerans friend when he was alive 700 years ago. As a character Tasirt has an instense back story, although not much is revealed in the actual comic series. What is revealed in the comic is that Tasirt has watched over Daquerans direct desendents since Daqueran died, which was a promise he made to Daqueran before Daqueran left for war and died. (I’ll add more to this when more is revelealed)
Name: Unicorn
Species: Unicorn
The unicorn is the creature giving orders to Daqueran, she is the one who raised him from the dead. She is a compasionate, kind and sweet unicorn, but also very stern. She has a love of the human species that began before the one day war, since then she has vowed to protect them, which is why when she saw the threat of another war she raised Daqueran to end it before it began.
Name: Inadel
Species: Feathered Dragon
Inadel is the leader of the feathered clan of dragons that is loyal to the Unicron. She is a strong leader, but also kind and understanding. Inadel likes humans and would very much like to have peace with them again, however becuase of Kalmosses humans are too afraid of dragons to welcome even kind ones. so Inadel and her kind remain in hiding.
Name: Fenyn
Species: Feathered Dragon
Fenyn is a young, friendly little boy dragon that is part of the group of feathered dragons fighting against Kalmosses. Fenyn has a tendency to say too much, and goof around alot, but he gets the job done. He’s too young to do much in the battle, but he does his part.
Name: Kalmosses
Species: Dragon
Kalmosses is a ruthless, power hungry monster out for revenge. He, and his army, is responsible for the near extinction of the human race during the 1 day war 700 years previous. Kalmosses came to power shortly before the war by defeating the previous ruler, Failon, and to humiliate him made him a slave. Kalmosses was exiled by the Unicorn to Shalyn after the 1 day war and has been brooding his revenge since. His small battles and attacks on human villiages alerted the unicorn that he was planning to destroy the last of the human race.
Name: Failon
Species: Dragon
Failon is a the former leader of the dragon clan, and was a more peacful ruler than Kalmosses. When Failon ruled, Gath’mela and dragons were neither at war, but didn’t bother eachother either. Failons role now is as Kalmosses slave, and he will do anything to earn his mercy and to try and get free.
Creatures
Dragons
Dragons come in two varieties, feathered and scaled.
The scaled dragons are the ruthless and primitive monsters of Gath’mela, but it wasn’t always this way. Kalmosses, a greedy monsterous dragon persuaded the others that they were strong and should rule all because it was the natural order of things for the mighty to rule the weak. After the war, kalmosses and his followers were banished to Shalynd, leaving only a few scattered scaled dragons throughout the rest of Gath’mela. Some of them were secretly loyal to Kalmosses, but were little threat while Kalmosses was defeated.
The feathered dragons are more civilized and compassionate. They are loyal to the unicorn and desire peace above all else. Kalmosses war on the humans tarnished the names of all dragons and so even feathered peaceful dragons are secretive and hiding. They long to be part of Gath’mela once more.
Unicorns
There is only one Unicorn for every age in Gath’mela, when one dies at the end of an age an Shy-Hatelt elk will give birth to twin fawns, one will be a unicorn. The new baby unicorn will be born bright white and look like an albino elk until it’s single spiral horn, green holy marking and glow appears. Unicorns are able to use their powers to bring back people from the dead, however because of the dangers to that individuals immortal soul, they only do so as a last resort. A unicorn cannot take a life, which is why they need to raise other species. Unicorns will try as much as possible not to interfear with the natural order of things, rather, they maintain the cleanliness of the world and keep tabs on whats what.
Humans
Humans are scattered througout Gath’mela, having been split when the Vanwin Forest filled in a large area of the continent. There are several small isolated groups of humans along the eastern edge of the Vanwin. These groups tend to live off the land, be peacful and keep to themselves and value tradition. On the west side of the Vanwin is the largest areas of Human population. The western humans take up the valdran and Flya penninsulas and are more industrial. They live in towns and villiages, they have ships, and are more technilogically advanced.
There is less than half the human population left in Gath’mela as the majority of them were massacured by dragons before and during the war.
Mermaids/Sirens
The mermaids are a greedy, illogical lot who will do anything for jewels and gold. They will not tell you anything even if they risk diing unless you give them something first. They measure their success in life by who has the most decoration and possessions. Mermaids are still friendly, but mostly to male travellers and traders.
The mermales are less greedy and don’t care much for decoration, rather they measure their importance on honor and military service, guarding the maids jewels and protecting the mer-peoples land and citizens.
